Sunday’s Sermon: Gods of Love

While the word “love” is usually used in the world to refer to things that are considered to be universal forces for good — romance, commitment, self-sacrifice, sexual attraction, companionship, etc. — it can also be something that leads us away from God. As Augustine noted, sin can be understood as “disordered loves.”

This message is a look at God’s challenge to the patriarch Abraham to put God above his love for his son, Isaac.

Don’t let the people and things you love become gods in your life.
